This is neither a secret nor a surprise: the French sources of information on domain names are rather pale in comparison to their neighboring English, German or even Spanish. Both the quantity and quality. So where the grass is greener a priori that are frequently gambol experts and curious to satisfy their desire - or need - information on the market for domain names.
Without necessarily having a preference for either of these foreign sources, I have the opportunity to spend a day in some magazine. But the market information on domain names flourishing, it is easily lost in this maze again. Not to mention the linguistic gymnastics required, even for training linguists like me.
So I got the idea, as I told you to return, offer BlogoDomaines on a regular overview of my recent readings. The goal is to make a selection combining diversity, relevance and humor. And decorate everything from a few brief comments personal history o)
To facilitate reading the selected excerpts are translated / adapted into French. It's party first!
"It is time for owners of Canadian domain names to hear their voices, having long had the feeling of being isolated. Today, that isolation is no longer inevitable. Through this new partnership, we can work together to promote our interest in domaining "
Peter Maxymych, President eMall. Ca founder DOACS (Domain Owner Association of Canada), an association which will be officially launched at the Conference Domain Convergence, which will be held from October 6 to 8 in prestigious Niagara Falls in Ontario.
Recall that Canada may be concerned as one of the cradles of French domaining. Our friends Quebecers have indeed influenced by their American neighbors, have recognized earlier the investment opportunities offered by the domain names. The most famous figure of this generation domainer is probably Quebecois Gilles Lavoie (Quebec City Index / Com Web Sites LLC), owner of several thousand pearls as dictionnaire.com, and fleuristes.com diamants.com.
I know a similar project is being assembled in Italy. A quand l'association francophone domainers? With a sound project is an interesting and effective way to make its voice heard. Remember that the market for domain names is a young market on which much remains to be done in terms of structuring. I am convinced that in the medium term, such initiatives have their place in the French namespace.

"With an addition of 900 000 dollars generated by the sale of some 200 domain names through its" silent auction ", the total volume of transactions by Moniker auction at the TRAFFIC conference is around 4 million dollars ".
This is certainly not a record for Monte Cahn and his team, but the figure still leaves dreamer at a time when the global economy seems out of breath. The palm area of the most expensive sold back to FinancialAid.com, which has changed ownership for $ 800 000.

"The dominance of Google on and off the Internet is scary, but their strategy is actually not that surprising given the substantial lead they took on their rivals'
Michael Gilmour, in a note on the impact of financial crisis on the industry of domain names and especially the parking. He said Google and Yahoo, which saw the share price fall dramatically even abysmal in recent months, more than ever need to both reduce costs and increase their margins to keep their boat afloat. Hence a significant reduction in CPS (cost per click) felt by the car park providers and their end customers, domainers. Not to mention the budgets of advertisers, certainly known to be also revised downwards if the transformation is not at the rendezvous.

"Upon arrival, many Domaineur were animated by a sense of insecurity. They were worried about their future. They were asking questions. We decided to put an end to all this circus "
Rick Schwartz, always as sharp in his words: o)
Co-founder of the TRAFFIC conference with his sidekick Howard Neu, Rick is an eternal optimist and still believe that owners of the domain name necessarily win all the wars in which the Internet could give birth as they have in their hands the weapon : traffic (quality)

"We believe that this transaction raises significant competition problems"
U.S. Senator and member of the "Antitrust Subcommittee Herbert Kohl, in a letter to the Department of Justice regarding the partnership arrangement between Google and Yahoo. The latter recommends the U.S. Department of Justice to monitor the case like milk on the fire, although he considers the agreement a priori consistent with the rules established in this area.
Everything suggests that the partnership in question will have negative consequences on undustrie CPP, as a Yahoo weaken already not very dashing and reinforce a Google already sufficiently dominant.
