Heaven, my domain!
Surprises for the experienced Web Rank Info, a reference among the sites SEO advice: in last night, the domain name webrankinfo.com was found parked at Parked.com. Not by its owner Oliver Duff, who had suddenly taken a more direct monetization of traffic generated by its monstrous 'baby', but by third malicious.
In 24 hours, the news has already been around the web feeds and talks the most diverse. This appears to be at once as old as time: the flight domain.
Those who were on the market in its early days will remember the methods of recording and transfers somewhat secure (and most insecure) that made flights of domain names easily and therefore relatively common.
One remembers a certain google.de that in 2004 - if I remember correctly - had ended in the hands of a gay student who had told German "and if I threw a transfer request to see." A Google employee half awake / uninformed had then allowed the coup of the century of success in mechanically accepting the transfer request in question. A little lobbying and a lot of pressure at the time had made up for the shot that day.
Since then, things have fortunately changed much in the prevention of abusive transfers. Paper forms - a treat for those who have no moral problem in imitating signatures - are becoming scarce; systems AUTH-code, them multiply.
The Internet is evolving, and with methods of fraudsters. If necessary, it is a security flaw in the messaging e-mail account associated with the domain (address admin-c) would appear to be involved. And when you took the joystick of the control tower, it was immediately easier to hijack a plane. Thus webrankinfo.com has offered a way OVH-GoDaddy. I say one way, because the chances of recovering the jewel in my eyes are small even when called WRI. Unless Bob Parsons prefers suddenly on social SuperBowl ...
But these opportunities exist and like many, I hope this story finds a happy ending. Otherwise, Olivier Duffez can always fall back on webrankinfo.fr, he had the good idea to secure in June 2004.
But at what cost? Perhaps more than anything that may have been the pirate win!
